MZ-103 Powder Bulk Density Tester

Introduction

The bulk density meter is designed and produced according to the national standard GB/T 16913.3-1997. This device is suitable for the measurement of dust accumulation density. For sample collection, please refer to GB/T 16913.1-1997 Dust Physics Test Method Part 1: Relevant regulations in the collection of sample dust.

Principle

The powder drop from high place freely and fill with measuring cylinder; By measuring the gram mass and volume in the status of loose then can get powder bulk density.

Structure

1. Funnel(diameter of outflux 12.7mm)
Stainless steel funnel(304), 60°±0.5° taper

2. Obstructed rod
Stainless steel(304),to prevent the dust drop when placed into funnel

3. Balance(optional)
Maximum weight 1kg.resolution 0.02g

4. Measuring cylinder
100ml stainless steel(304) measuring cylinder.inner diameter Φ39mm

5. Scraper blade
Stainless steel(304),to remove the extra dust when it is droped into funnel

Bulk density definition:

According to the standard where a powder sample fills into a vessel, flat at the top, the ratio of the powder mass to the volume of the vessel is defined as bulk density. It indicates the mass of the powder that can be added into the vessel per volume under the normal conditions.

Bulk density tester testing method:

Let the powder at a certain height fall into the measuring cylinder by the funnel freely , and make the measuring cylinder full of the powder, then weigh the measuring cylinder ,get the weight of the powder, finally get the apparent density(also called bulk density, loose density) of the powder.
